Astrology – Planets (Part 4)

Aspects of Planets

We know look into another important matter of Hindu Astrology which is planetary aspects. All planets aspects 100% on the 7th house from where they are deposited

–          Mars aspects 4th, 7th and 8th houses from the place of its deposition

–          Jupiter aspects 5th, 7th and 9th houses from the place of its deposition

–          Saturn aspects 3rd, 7th and 10th houses from the place of its deposition

Apart from these all other planets except Mars have 75% aspect on 4th and 8th house, all planets except Jupiter have 50% aspect on 5th and 9th house and all planets except Saturn have 25% aspect on 3rd and 10th house

Let’s take a look at the above example. In this chart Mars (Mang) is deposited in Scorpio aspects Ketu in Aquarius, Taurus and Gemini. Jupiter (Guru) aspects Sagittarius,  Ketu in Aquarius and Mercury, Sun in Aries. Saturn (Sani) aspects Capricorn, Taurus and Guru, Rahu in Leo. So we can see Ketu deposited in Aquarius which is the 8th house from ascendant is aspected by both Mars and Jupiter. So when we judge matters of this house we have to keep in mind the influence of both these planets too. Similarly Taurus which is the 11th house from ascendant is aspected by both Mars and Saturn so we have to consider them as well while making prediction.

General Rules

–          Rahu and Ketu do not aspect

–          Aspects by benefics(by nature and house owned) are always good

–          Aspects by malefics(by nature and house owned) are always bad

–          If a planet aspects its own house it always strengthens it whether it is benefic or malefic

Conjunction of Planets

Conjunction refers to the placement of two planets in the same sign. It affects the conjunct planets either positively or negatively. For example if Sun and Moon are together and specially if it is in close proximity to each other, it effects both soul and mind of that individual. As Sun represents the soul and moon the mind. Similarly if Sun and Mars are together as both are hot planets it makes the temperament of that person the house represents hot and short tempered. If sun and venus are together it makes the person very artistic. If sun and mercury are together it makes the person scholarly. So you can see different planetary conjunction can give different results.
